Police have registered a case against Manjeri MLA UA Latheef’s son Ameer and six others for allegedly assaulting a man and vandalizing his shop in Manjeri. The incident took place on the night of March 3. The victim, Kooliyodan Latheef of Mullampara, Manjeri, posted a bitter comment on the MLA’s Facebook page in response to the PWD road development project allegation. Police said the comment allegedly provoked Mr Ameer and his associates to attack him. The police have also registered a counter-case against Mr Latheef for allegedly using a knife on Mr Ameer and his group.
