Three youths were killed and three others injured after the car they were traveling in rammed into the back of a truck near Agara Cross on the outskirts of the city in the early hours of March 8.
The deceased was identified as Saif Pasha, 22, who worked in a car interiors garage; Yusuf Khan, 22, an employee at a furniture store. While both were residents of Tilak Nagar, the third deceased, Azar Pasha, 22, was a painter and a resident of Siddapura in Jayanagar.
According to the police, the accident took place around 1.15am when the car driven by Saif was heading towards Harohalli from Bengaluru. Police said the car was speeding when it allegedly failed to notice a bump in the road and crashed into the back of a truck loaded with cement.
The impact was strong and the front part of the car was completely destroyed.
Meanwhile, another speeder following Saif’s vehicle also rammed the yellow board car. However, the passengers in that vehicle suffered only minor injuries.
Saif died on the spot while Yusuf and Azar were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.
Police said the trio were on their way to visit Saif’s father’s grave in Harohalli when the accident took place.
Kaggalipur police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
