
Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli congratulated Team India for winning the T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final on Sunday, March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kohli was part of India’s final win at the 2024 World T20 Cup, where he was named man of the match for a match-winning 76 (59) in the final against South Africa in Barbados. After his innings, he left the format along with Rohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant four-wicket haul. He finished the tournament as joint top wicket-taker of the tournament with 14 scalps along with Varun Chakravarthy.
On the other hand, Sanju Samson was declared the player of the tournament after scoring his third consecutive half-century in the tournament. He finished the tournament as the third highest run-scorer with 321 runs from five innings at an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of 199.37.
