The Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission will organize a five-day ‘Jan Sunwai’ program across the state from March 9 to 13 to redress the grievances of women.
Commission chairman Rayapati Sailaja, who announced the plan on Sunday, said the initiative follows the guidelines of the National Commission for Women. Public hearings will be held in five zones, Nellore on Monday (March 9), Guntur on March 10, Vijayawada on March 11, Rajamahendravaram on March 12 and Visakhapatnam on March 13.
The chairwoman said that officials from the district office, the police, the legal service and relevant trade unions would be present at the district headquarters to receive petitions. Ms. Sailaja added that the Commission will ensure prompt response to all complaints filed during this special drive.
