Shaw captioned the post: “From sixes on the field to a life on the field. It’s my perfect innings!”
Akriti Agarwal is a social media influencer and actress from Lucknow who moved to Mumbai where she built a strong online following of over 3 million followers on Instagram and ventured into acting, making her film debut in Trimukha.
Shaw and his girlfriend were recently spotted together at the star-studded wedding of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok in Mumbai. The couple joined a host of sports and Bollywood celebrities celebrating the union of the cricket legend’s son.
Shaw was seen in a traditional midnight blue sherwani while Akriti complemented him in a coordinating designer lehenga as photographers caught the couple entering the event along with other prominent guests.
PRITHVI SHAW’S INCONSISTENT CAREER
Once hailed as one of India’s most promising young batsmen, Shaw made a sensational entry into international cricket with a Test century on debut against the West Indies in 2018. However, his career has consistently fallen short of that initial promise, with periods of indiscipline, fitness concerns and inconsistent form affecting his trajectory.
In October 2024, Shaw was dropped from the Ranji Trophy squad in Mumbai after reports highlighted irregular attendance at training sessions, late arrivals and being overweight, all of which raised questions about his professionalism.
These concerns also affected his IPL journey. Shaw went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, with commentators citing issues with form, fitness and attitude. The failure continued in the IPL 2026 mini-auction where it failed to sell at its base price of Rs 75 lakh in the first rounds.
Ultimately, the Capitals picked him in the last accelerated round, offering him an opportunity to revive his IPL career and prove his critics wrong.
