Director of Secondary Health KVN Chakradhar Babu praised the team of doctors at Rajampeta Area Hospital for saving the pregnant woman’s life. Mr. Chakradhar Babu wrote a letter to the doctors and praised their skill, dedication and courage in handling the case of high risk pregnancy.
According to a Health Department press release, the woman, E. Shankaramma, was initially taken to private hospitals in Tirupati, where management refused to treat her due to the high risk. She was said to have been told that the fetus had died in her womb and that the operation would endanger her life. She was then taken to Rajampet Area Hospital in Annamayya district where doctors performed the surgery.
Citing this case as an example, Mr. Chakradhar Babu said that government hospitals in the state have experienced doctors who are proficient in complex cases. He appreciated the efforts of Hospital Superintendent PVN Raju, Gynecologist CH Anil Kumar and other team members.
