
Air India and Air India Express said they are continuing scheduled services to and from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Muscat in Oman as the airspace over the two countries remains open.
Air India maintains its regular flights between Delhi and Mumbai to Jeddah. Meanwhile, Air India Express continues services connecting Muscat to several Indian cities including Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Kannur.
More flights to the UAE have been announced
Due to continued airspace restrictions in other parts of West Asia, airlines will operate additional non-scheduled flights on March 8, subject to approval by Indian and local authorities.
Air India will operate additional flights between Delhi and Mumbai and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Air India Express will also operate 30 additional flights between India and UAE cities including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
Services scheduled for March 8
Airlines have confirmed a number of scheduled routes operating on 8 March 2026.
Flights between India and Muscat connect cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. Services between India and Jeddah will also operate from Delhi, Mumbai, Kozhikode, Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
Air India announces additional flights to UAE and Oman on March 8
Air India and Air India Express have announced a series of additional non-scheduled flights on March 8 to support passengers stranded amid the ongoing regional issues. The airline said passengers with existing reservations would be given priority.
Extraordinary services to Dubai, UAE include routes from Mumbai and Delhi operated by both carriers.
Services for Ras Al Khaimah
Additional flights to Ras Al Khaimah are scheduled from Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi and Bengaluru.
Abu Dhabi and Sharjah operations
Additional connectivity will also be provided to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, primarily from Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Additional services to Muscat, Oman will operate from Mumbai and Delhi.
The airlines said the purpose of the special flights is to ease travel disruption and ensure continued connections for affected passengers.
Several routes in the Persian Gulf were temporarily cancelled
Air India Express said all scheduled flights to and from Bahrain, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait and Riyadh will remain canceled until March 13.
Air India has also suspended its scheduled flights to and from Dammam, Doha and Riyadh until March 10.
Passengers who booked the canceled flights were offered the option to rebook at a later date without additional charges or request a full refund, the airline said.
Special reservation change options for passengers
Passengers traveling with Air India can submit a rebooking or cancellation request through the airline’s website or its 24-hour customer support lines.
Air India Express said passengers departing from any airport in the UAE can rebook additional commercial flights operated by the airline between UAE cities and India without any additional charges.
Services in Europe and North America continue
Air India said its flights to Europe, including the United Kingdom, and North America are operating on alternate routes from March 2, 2026.
Due to longer routes, some flights from India to North America have technical stops at Rome-Fiumicino Airport in Italy or Vienna International Airport in Austria before continuing to their final destinations.
