In a swift action, Bengaluru police on Friday rescued a 56-year-old woman who accidentally fell into a 25-feet deep pit near a public park in Nagarabhavi in West Bengaluru.
According to the police, the woman, identified as Sudha Parimala, fell into the pit during the early hours of Friday. Her son immediately called 112 and sought help.
Officers at the control room alerted the Chandra Layout police station following which ASI Srinivas Murthy and Head Constable Vinoda of Hoysala Patrol Team-61 were dispatched. The officers arrived at the scene within four minutes and located the woman in the pit using the mobile phone she had with her.
Police officers pulled the woman safely out of the pit using a rope. She was later taken to a private hospital for treatment. Police said the patrol team’s quick response helped save the woman from a potentially dangerous situation.
