Police on Friday displayed the murder accused and the seized country rifle in Chittoor.
An argument over a loan of Rs 200 per hand allegedly led to the murder of a 26-year-old man in Thummindapalem village of Chittoor mandal.
According to the Chittoor Rural Police, the victim, K. Sai Kumar, allegedly lent the amount to a neighbor, K. Dilli Babu, to help him settle his debts. Later, despite repeated requests from Sai Kumar and his family, Dilli Babu refused to repay the money and often threatened him whenever a problem arose.
On the afternoon of March 4, Sai Kumar approached Dilli Baba near an under-construction house in the village and asked for repayment, saying that he needed money for his sister’s marriage. After a heated argument, Dilli Babu allegedly brought a country rifle and shot Sai Kumar under the right temple, killing him on the spot.
The accused was arrested on Friday near Gopalapuram bus stand and the weapon was seized.
