Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) reiterated the state government’s strong commitment to farmers and emphasized that Telangana is emerging as a national model in agricultural prosperity.
He announced that financial assistance will be released today under Rythu Bharosa scheme for Kharif season (Vanakalam) which will provide ₹12,000 per acre per year as investment support to farmers. The initiative, he said, fulfills the promises made in the Warangal Farmers’ Declaration, a key political framework of the Congress.
Mr. Goud noted that the government’s farm loan waiver of up to ₹2,000 crore has benefited nearly 25 lakh farm families, easing financial burdens and strengthening rural livelihoods. He added that the state has allocated a substantial budget for agriculture and allied sectors despite fiscal constraints.
The introduction of the fine paddy bonus resulted in almost a 60% increase in cultivation, increasing farmers’ incomes and production. Apart from land owners, the government has also launched the Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa scheme to support landless agricultural labourers.
Farmers insurance continues to provide financial security to farm families in times of need, he said. Mr. Goud clarified that only cultivable land is eligible for Rythu Bharos benefits and revised guidelines have been introduced to prevent misuse of public funds.
He emphasized that the government is implementing social programs while maintaining fiscal discipline. “Prosperity of farmers is the foundation of Telangana’s development,” Mr. Goud said.
