The arrest of eight people in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donation money at the Ram temple in Ayodhya is an event that has ramifications both within and outside the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-led Sangh Parivar, especially in the run-up to the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh early next year.

The most obvious impact on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Sangh Parivar is of course the loss of the moral high ground.
