Congress questions West Bengal Governor’s sudden resignation
The sudden resignation of West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose on Thursday, just weeks before the state elections, has the Congress asking “what is going on”. The party compared the situation to the removal of Jagdeep Dhankhar as vice-president last year, suggesting that his successor in the Kolkata Lok Bhavan is now being treated in a similar manner, PTI reported.
The opposition also criticized RN Ravi’s transfer to West Bengal, saying “he is guaranteed to cause trouble in the state”.

Speaking to PTI from Delhi, Bose said, “Yes, I have resigned. I have been the governor of Bengal for three-and-a-half years; that is enough for me.”

Officials at Lok Bhavan confirmed that his resignation letter was sent from Delhi to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
After assuming office as the Governor of West Bengal on 17 November 2022, Bose resigned almost 20 months before the end of his term, becoming the second consecutive Governor of Bengal to leave office before completing a full term.
