
The Lokayukta Police on Thursday caught an official of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 to stop a road-cutting violation case.
According to officials, the complainant Abdul Rehman (49), a resident of RT Nagar, alleged that his wood chipper used for cutting roads was illegally seized from the construction site. The accused government official allegedly demanded ₹10,000 to release the machine.
The accused, identified as M. Nagaraj (39), working with GBA in Kaval Byrasandra, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. The accused was taken into custody under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and remanded for further investigation.
