Former India captain MS Dhoni arrived with his wife Sakshi Dhoni for Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok’s wedding in Mumbai on Wednesday. The ceremony attracted several familiar faces from the cricketing world, many of whom share a long association with Arjuna’s father, Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhoni, who played alongside Tendulkar for many years in the Indian team, was seen entering the venue in a traditional bandhgala outfit, while Sakshi opted for a simple embroidered suit for the occasion. The couple greeted the guests and joined the Tendulkar family for the celebrations as the wedding ceremony began.
Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok will tie the knot on March 5 in Mumbai after a series of pre-wedding celebrations. The couple got engaged last August 25.
Several former cricketers and close friends of Sachin Tendulkar attended the ceremony in Mumbai. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid, former captain Anil Kumble, world champion all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan were among the prominent guests arriving at the venue.
Officials from the cricket administration were also present at the ceremony. India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar attended the event with his wife, while International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah was also among those spotted at the venue.
Apart from the cricket fraternity, the wedding also attracted guests from other fields. Filmmaker and actor Ashutosh Gowariker attended with his wife, film producer Sunita Gowariker, Maharashtra state minister Ashish Shelar was also present.
