Police have warned of legal action against those who uploaded videos and photographs related to a case registered against Mallikarjun Mutya, a mutt head in Mahal Roja village in Shahapur taluk of Yadgir district in Karnataka, who was booked under the POCSO Act after the video showed him allegedly misbehaving with a minor girl.
Superintendent of Police Prutwik Shankar said sharing and uploading information or photos or videos of a minor girl and identifying her parents by posting their photos is illegal. “If anyone is caught in such an activity, they will be dealt with through the courts,” he added.
“As the case involves a minor girl. We must take strict action against those who upload or share videos or photos, not only the girl but also the parents,” he said.
