Traffic will be diverted on key stretches including the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 48) in the Old Katpadi area of Vellore on Thursday due to bull run in the area.
According to a press release, the diversion of vehicular traffic is to facilitate the flow of traffic on key routes in the district during the bull race, which will be organized as part of the local temple festival.
As per the plan, vehicles will not be allowed between Chittoor Bus Stand and Brahmapuram Road. Instead, all vehicles (except trucks) should use Odai Pillaiyar Koil Street, Auxilium College Road junction, Puthu Koil Street, VG Rao Nagar to reach areas like Brahmapuram and surrounding villages.
Vehicles coming from Brahmapuram should use only diversion route to reach Katpadi Railway Station and Chittoor Bus Stand. Vehicles going towards Tiruvalam from Chittoor should use Vallimalai Main Road and Sekkadu Road.
Traffic will be diverted from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. Educational institutions should plan for the safe transportation of students accordingly, the report said.
