
The merry spirit of the Holi festival even colored the skyline of New York. The Consulate General of India expressed a solemn wish on the occasion. A Holi wish message was displayed in Times Square with colors in the foreground.
The caption of the post on X shared by the Consulate General of India reads, “Wishing everyone a vibrant and joyous Holi from the heart of New York. #TimesSquare May this festival of colors bring renewed hope, harmony and happiness to all.”

The Embassy of India in Washington also extended Holi wishes. The festival of Holi has transcended its religious and geographical boundaries to become a symbol of multiculturalism, joy and social justice.
When did Texas officially recognize the festival of Holi?
Last year, the Texas Senate passed its first ever resolution recognizing Holi. Through this resolution, the Hindu festival was officially recognized as an important cultural celebration. The move makes Texas the third US state to formally recognize Holi, after Georgia and New York.
The resolution, introduced by Senator Sarah Eckhardt, states: “The origins of this joyous festival can be traced back many millennia, and the holiday is recognized and celebrated around the world by people of all backgrounds who relate to the festival’s themes of love, renewal and progress.”

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) lobbied Senator Eckhardt’s office to pass the resolution. The Texas Senate highlighted the importance of the Holi festival in strengthening community ties and enriching cultural diversity.
World leaders greet Holi
Appreciating the role of colors in this festive celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X, “The festival of Holi fills the entire atmosphere with new energy. That is the great specialty of this celebration. The way the colors of joy spread everywhere, visible from all sides, fills everyone with exuberance and delight.”
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed Holi on Wednesday, saying it was “truly wonderful” to see the festival of color “so enthusiastically drawn into the story of modern Australia.

The Indian diaspora is the second largest and fastest growing diaspora in Australia, according to the Indian Mission in the country.
Suggesting that the occasion offers a chance to renew ourselves and each other,” the Australian Prime Minister said, “it is truly amazing how Holi has been so enthusiastically drawn into the story of modern Australia, its joyous expression of colour, love and new life warmly embraced by people from all backgrounds as the highlight of our festival calendar,” he added.
Concluding his greeting, he said, “May this year’s Holi celebrations develop friendships and build community so that long after the gulal has floated away, the strength of all that binds us continues.”
The Prime Minister of New Zealand greeted Holi in a post on X: “Wishing everyone celebrating a very happy and colorful Holi!
Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, shared a heartwarming message about Holi: “Happy Holi to all celebrants in India 🇮🇳 and around the world. Just like Purim, which is celebrated in Israel today, mostly under cover, good always triumphs over evil and light overcomes darkness.”
