Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu on Tuesday asked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to approve new trains to Secunderabad and Tirupati from Srikakulam. He met Mr. Vaishnav in New Delhi and discussed various ongoing projects, including the South Coast Zone (SCoR) works.
He said that the full-fledged operation of the new railway zone based at Visakhapatnam and the new trains would benefit the North Andhra region in all aspects. He also sought to stop the train at Mandas, Pathapatnam, Harischandrapuram and other places in Srikakulam district. Mr. Vaishnav responded positively to the demand for early completion of new railway over bridges, under bridges and other infrastructure. Mr. Rammohan Naidu said that integration of air and rail connectivity in all states would benefit both air and rail passengers across the country.
