Two persons, including CPI(M) East Ottapalam branch secretary Arshid (31), were stabbed during an encounter at Chinakkathoor Pooram near Ottapalam on Tuesday.
Another person injured in the attack was identified as Prashant. Several others, Santhosh, Sanoop, Ameen and Anil were also injured in the encounter.
According to the police, the violence broke out during the Special Pooram event of the Chinakkathoor Pooram festival. Two men were arrested in connection with the attack and police were investigating.
