Advanced avionics and cockpit interface electronics for global aerospace and defense programs will now be manufactured in Hyderabad, with Canadian avionics manufacturer Firan Technology Group (FTG) on Monday inaugurating its first manufacturing facility in India at the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park in Hyderabad.

Developed by GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited (GHASL), a 100% subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), the facility marks FTG’s entry into India and its fourth global manufacturing site after Canada, the United States and China.

The new unit has been set up as a customized Built-to-Suit (BTS) facility within the 277-acre GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park and will manufacture advanced avionics electronics and cockpit interfaces for global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the aerospace and defense sector.

The launch of India’s first FTG plant at GMR Aerospace Park marks a significant step forward in building a globally competitive aerospace manufacturing ecosystem. TG’s presence will play a key role in strengthening domestic and export supply chains, promoting indigenization and further positioning Hyderabad as a leading hub for aerospace and industrial innovation,” said Aman Kapoor, CEO, GMR Airport Land Development.

The opening of our first plant in India is a strategic milestone for FTG. GMR’s world-class Built-to-Suit infrastructure and integrated, airport-driven ecosystem provide us with the ideal platform to deliver the highly reliable avionics and cockpit interface electronics that our global OEM customers depend on, said Brad Bourne, President and CEO of FTG Corporation.
