
An unidentified man aged between 35 and 40 was found dead on the tracks in Soladevanahalli in North Bengaluru on Monday.
According to the police, the body was discovered in a badly mutilated condition on the borders of the Soladevanahalli railway line. The impact of the train was so intense that parts of the body were found dismembered and scattered along the track. The face was damaged beyond recognition, making identification difficult.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the man may have been run over by a train late Sunday evening. However, the exact circumstances that led to the incident are not yet known.
Officials of Yeshwantpur Railway Police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The body was taken for an autopsy.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and efforts are underway to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death, police said.
