
Delhi: Delhi Metro train services will start at 2.30 pm on Holi, Wednesday March 4, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Monday.
The timing change applies to all metro train services from all lines, including the Airport Express Line, HT said citing a press release.
On normal days, Delhi Metro operates from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM IST.

DMRC, in its post, said that metro services will start from terminus stations on all lines at 2.30 pm on Wednesday, March 4. Services will operate as normal for the rest of the day, he added.
When will normal services resume?
Metro service will resume from 14:30 at the end stations on all lines, after which trains will run according to the normal timetable.
Passengers have been advised to check the updated timings and plan their journey in advance – especially those heading to or from the airport – as early morning services will remain suspended on the occasion of Holi, a Hindustan Times report said.
When is Holika Dahan – March 3rd or 4th?
Many times confusion arises around the date of Holi festivities as the celebrations begin the night before Holi with Holika Dhahan (fire).
This year, Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 3 and Holi will be celebrated a day later – March 4, a Wednesday.
Holi 2026 holiday
In Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Adityanath has announced a three-day Holi holiday from March 2 to 4 for all state government employees. He also ordered that the salaries of all civil servants be paid in advance.
With March 2 marking the beginning of the holiday season, all offices run by the Uttar Pradesh government — including those in Noida — will remain closed for three days in view of Holi.
All ministries under the state government are expected to observe the holiday during this period, HT reported.
When are banks closed on Holi – March 3rd or 4th?
Banks will remain closed on March 3 and 4 for Holi in various regions across the country.
On Tuesday, March 3, banks will remain closed in 16 regions. These include Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.
On Wednesday, March 4, banks will be closed in 18 regions, which include Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong and Shimla
