Kerala has postponed the SSLC (Class 10) examinations to be held on March 5 and the Higher Secondary (Class 12 or Plus 2) examinations to be held on March 5, 6 and 7 in the West Asia region due to the escalating Israel-US-Iran conflict, Minister of State for General Education V Sivakutty said.
The minister said at a press conference on Monday (March 2, 2026) that there was “uncertainty” over the conduct of public examinations for students in the Gulf region.
New exam dates will be published later.
The minister said that some students in the Gulf region as well as in Kerala have expressed concern that they will not be able to attend the examination centers to appear for the exams. These students should immediately submit a request to the Director of General Education through their principal. The Department of General Education would make a positive decision based on the validity of the request, the minister said.
He emphasized that the department will stand with the students in this matter.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also postponed the Class 10th and 12th board exams scheduled for March 2 in the West Asian region and announced a review of the situation with respect to the exams scheduled from March 5 onwards.
