Kannur Youth Congress district president Vijil Mohanan on Sunday (March 1, 2026) claimed that Health Minister Veena George was “hallucinating” by repeatedly claiming that she was attacked by the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and Youth Congress workers, despite what he called a collapse of the story.
At a press conference, Mr. Mohanan said the minister was “imagining” incidents that never happened.
“Youth Congress workers, who did not even come near the vehicle, are accused of hitting the car and KSU workers are said to have strangled her. These are baseless allegations,” he said. Referring to the recently opened International Ayurveda Research Institute at Kalliad in Padiyoor panchayat, Mr. Mohanan claimed that none of the work had been completed. As per the first phase plan, a 100-bed hospital, a 9,000 sq ft palm leaf manuscript preservation building and a 300 sq ft children’s block were to be ready, he said.
“Only the facade has been completed for this function. Plastering, flooring and electrification remain unfinished,” he said. Mr. Mohanan also noted that those who once mocked the trial run at the Kannur International Airport are now silent. District General Secretary Mithun Maroli was also present at the press conference.
