As the annual SSLC exams are fast approaching, the district administration, Zilla Panchayat and Education Department of Yadgir are constantly making hectic efforts and taking reform steps to ensure good results.
The education department has already conducted special classes, night classes, group discussions, pre-tests and taken other necessary initiatives to encourage students to write exams comfortably and get good results.
In addition, the Zilla Panchayat has now moved forward with another reform step and has asked the gram Panchayat across the district to make all arrangements to enable students to study at Arivu Kendras 24 hours a day.
“A circular has been issued to all taluk panchayats, deputy director of public instructions and all block education officers asking them to provide SSLC students with drinking water, seating, evening snacks and other basic necessities for continuous exam preparation,” Zilla Panchayat CEO Lavish Ordia said.
A total of 124 Arivu Kendras have been placed in 122 gram panchayats across the district.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge had earlier directed officials to set up Ariva Kendras in all gram panchayats with all necessary books not only for general readers but also for students and candidates who want to prepare for competitive exams.
Since then the Zilla Panchayat has established Arivu Kendras for the purposes of the public and students. He said that Arivu Kendras are now becoming more useful for SSLC students under crucial circumstances.
The district secured the 33rd place among other districts in the state list in 2025. And in 2024, he was in 35th place.
“We have sent guest teachers and recruited average students to focus more on them to develop their educational growth and improve their grasping ability. And besides, night classes have been organized in collaboration with donors who have promised to serve food to the students at night,” DDPI Channabasappa Mudhol told The Hindu.
Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar has already held meetings with Education Department officials and directed them to take all available initiatives to improve results.
Meanwhile, District Minister-in-Charge and Small Scale Industries Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur appealed to the parents of the students to extend coordination with the department in a bid to implement initiatives to improve results.
In his letter, Mr. Darshanapur asked parents to encourage students to appear for the exams with great confidence.
He further asked them, especially the farmers, not to engage the students in agricultural activities and field work until the exams are over and to force them to work hard and achieve good results.
Despite the shortage of teachers in government-run schools, the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Education as well as the district in-charge minister came together and introduced reform initiatives, taking seriously the poor performance of the district in the SSLC results.
