
At least three people were killed and 14 others were injured Sunday (local time) after a mass shooting in downtown Austin, Texas, Ksat reported.
Austin police responded to reports of a shooting at Buford’s bar on West Sixth Street around 1:59 a.m., authorities said. Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said officers were initially stationed on East 6th Street and later moved to West 6th, where they confronted the suspect. She added that three officers returned fire and killed the male suspect.
Davis said, “At one point he put on his flashers, rolled down the window and started using a handgun, shooting out the windows of his car and striking the bar patrons who were on the patio and in front of the bar,” CNN reported.

At least 14 people were injured and later taken to nearby hospitals, and at least two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. At least three of those hospitalized were in critical condition.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson offered his condolences at a public briefing, adding that he would continue to update the public throughout the day as more information became available. He added: “Our hearts go out to the people who were victims of this. And I want to reiterate my thanks to our public safety officers and officials who were on the scene so quickly.”
Mayor Watson praised the police: “They definitely saved lives.”

Austin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Chief Robert Luckritz said at a briefing that paramedics and police arrived at the scene of the shooting and began treating patients 57 seconds after receiving a call around 1:59 a.m. outside Buford’s bar on West 6th Street.
According to a CNN report, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Antonio Division, which covers the Austin area, said it was involved in the investigation but did not elaborate.
The FBI said it is investigating a “potential terrorist connection” to the deadly mass shooting in Austin, Texas. At a news conference Sunday morning, Alex Doran, acting special agent in charge of the FBI’s San Antonio division, said, “Obviously, it’s too early to determine an exact motive, but there were indicators on this subject and then this vehicle that indicate a potential connection to terrorism.”
Filming in Cincinnati, Ohio
At least nine people were injured after a mass shooting at a music and entertainment venue in Cincinnati’s East End Sunday night, WLWT reports.
The report indicates police received a call around 1:00 a.m. reporting a shooting at Riverfront Live on Kellogg Avenue. Interim Chief Adam Hennie said multiple shots were fired inside the location. The injured suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said, adding that they were taken to UC Medical Center or Good Samaritan Hospital.
Police do not yet have information on a suspect or a motive for the shooting. Hennie added that officers were close to the scene and were able to quickly dispatch several units.
American mass shootings
According to a CNN report, the US has reported 56 mass shootings so far this year. A mass shooting is defined as the shooting of at least four people, according to the Gun Violence Archive. This does not include shooters.
