City-based NGO Vibrants of Kalam organized a rally to inculcate patriotism and create awareness among the youth about the ill effects of drug use at the Prakasam barrage in Vijayawada on Saturday.
Vijay Kalam, founder of the organization called the rally “Dandi March 2.0” and urged every citizen to participate in the rally to spread the message about drug abuse. Participants carried a 1.2 km long national flag as part of the initiative.
Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi march held on March 12, 1930, the organizers are planning a nationwide drive where rallies will be held in 100 assembly constituencies. Hundreds of young people are expected to participate in these events.
Participating in the function, Mr. Vijay Kalam said that drugs do not destroy just one individual but the entire family.
