The II PU annual examination began on Saturday in 41 centers of Shivamoggy. As many as 15,063 students appeared for the Kannada paper on the day, recording 98.39% participation. Up to 246 students were missing.
Roads to the city’s investigation centers were busy in the morning. Parents were seen dropping off children and handing in their wishes for the exam. The children were busy with last-minute preparations.
Chandrappa S. Gundupalli, Deputy Principal of Pre-University, told The Hindu that he did not report any cases of neglect on the first day. “We have installed CCTVs in all examination halls of 41 centres. A separate team of officials will monitor the webcast of the examination process at the Zilla Panchayat office in Shivamogga,” he said.
The district administration has imposed bans around the examination centres. As many as 12 teams have been formed to distribute question papers to colleges.
