The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday (February 28, 2026) began publishing post-SIR electoral rolls in West Bengal in phases, with data from Bankura district showing that about 1.18 million names have been removed since the exercise began.
The development is significant as the state heads towards parliamentary elections in the coming months. Hard copies of the updated lists have been displayed in districts such as Bankura and Cooch Behar, though the updated lists are yet to be uploaded on the EC’s designated portals or mobile application at the time of reporting.
District election officials will provide hard copies of the final list to political parties. The final voter list will also be available on the ECI website.
How to find my name in the electoral roll?
Voters can view the final electoral roll online through the official websites of Chief Electoral Officer West Bengal (ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in) and ECI (eci.gov.in). By entering their name and EPIC number (Voter ID number) on the designated portal, voters can verify that their names are listed.
Names that have been confirmed will appear without a category tag. Entries awaiting verification will be marked “Under Adjudication” and those that have been removed from the list will be marked “Deleted”. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Through the West Bengal Elections website:
– Users should select “Special Intensive Revision 2026” and then go to the section marked “Final Publication of Electoral Roll – SIR 2026”.
– Enter district, assembly constituency details and select preferred language either Bengali or English.
– Depending on the changes in the designation of polling stations, voters should choose the appropriate name of the section or polling station. This step is especially important because part numbers may have been updated in some areas.
– Once the necessary selections are made, voters can download the final list in PDF format, enabling them to directly search for their names.
2. Check with Booth Level Officers (BLO):
For those who do not have easy access to the internet, they can also check the final electoral rolls through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who will be provided hard copies of the rolls. These officers are responsible for maintaining the voter list at the field level and can provide assistance in verifying the status of voter registration.
3. Via ECINET mobile app (can also be used to find new part number in case of change)
4. Access the Election Commission of India website at voters.eci.gov.in.
-In the Services section, select Download Pick List.
-Then select State (West Bengal), Revision Year (2026), Roll Type (SIR Final Roll 2026), District, Assembly Constituency and Preferred Language.
What to do if your name is not on the list?
If your name did not appear on the published final voter list, you will need to complete and submit Form 6. Along with Form 6, you must provide supporting documents to verify your age and residence, as well as a current passport size photograph.
You can submit these materials either online through the ECI website at voters.eci.gov.in or ECINET application or in person to the designated BLO.
Additionally, if the name does not appear in the list, voters can also reapply by submitting Form 6 for Enrollment.
Those whose names are listed as “Under adjudication” may be added to the supplementary list later after the required review.
