
The Hutti police on Friday registered a case against an unidentified motorcyclist after he found explosives near the main gate of the Hutti gold mines at Hutti village in Lingsugur taluk of Raichur district.
According to the FIR, citing a complaint filed by Manayya Mallappa, a watchman, Habeeb Akar, a watchman on duty, noticed something falling from a moving motorcycle coming from Medanapur village to Hutti, near the main gate of the gold mines, and informed him about it.
Habeeb Akar and the complainant both approached the fallen object and found that there were a total of 16 explosive rounds, the FIR said.
Further, the FIR states that the unknown motorcyclist was carrying explosives, violating rules and apparently knowingly harming a person.
Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri said in a statement that a case has been registered under Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and Section 288 of the BNS Act, 2023.
He also said that the police have launched a manhunt for the biker in various police station limits.
