Foundation stone laid for Gunadala-Vijayawada Road over bridge

Indian Railways has announced the construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) connecting the busy Vijayawada-Gunadala corridor at an estimated cost of ₹ 98.68 crore, eliminating Level Crossing Gate No. 316.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath along with Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Gati Sakthi Unit Chief Project Manager K Simon and Additional Divisional Railway Manager PE Edwin laid the foundation stone for the ROB works on Monday (June 29, 2026).

Speaking on the occasion, the MP thanked South Coast Railway (SCoR) officials for approving the Gunadala-Vijayawada ROB. Gati Sakthi Unit Deputy Chief Engineer PV Ramana Rao said the 920 meter long and 24 meter wide ROB, including service roads, would be completed in 18 months.
