Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of American journalist Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for almost a month. She was reportedly abducted from her home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona on January 31st.
Journalists and social media streamers have been stationed outside her house for weeks, hoping to catch the latest news.
However, on Friday (local time), a freelance journalist witnessed something unusual – a woman and her cameraman, dressed in all black, apparently taking pictures outside Nancy’s home in Arizona.

This has angered users who believe this influencer-style content overshadows the seriousness of the case.
“A woman and her cameraman just arrived at Nancy Guthrie’s house,” the journalist wrote in X’s post, adding a photo of the duo.
According to media reports, the duo did not want to engage when asked about what they were doing.

Here’s how netizens reacted:
Social media users were disgusted by “whistleblowers” who took pictures of the missing women outside the house. Several netizens shared additional pictures of the pair dressed in black to confirm that it was indeed a photoshoot.
“Standing, Posing and practically taking pictures outside the house of a missing 84 year old woman – god knows where she is or what happened to her?” said the user.
“This investigation has officially hit rock bottom,” another user exclaimed.
“Wondering what new wording will now be added to the No Trespassing signs? Whatever these attention grabbers decide to do when they’re out and about, Guthrie’s new security cameras will have an unobstructed view,” the user said.
“So disrespectful! There’s nothing wrong with taking pictures, but find another place! It’s time to close that street,” a netizen said.
“This is disgusting and makes a mockery of this crime!” added another.

Connection to Kayla Day?
Several social media users also claimed that the woman was a friend of Kayla Noel Day. Kayla was reportedly arrested in connection with the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case.
“Word on the street is that she’s friends with Kayla Day,” the user said. “Is this girl one of Kayla’s friends,” another user asked.
However, claims linking Kayla to the two individuals in the viral image are incorrect. According to Grok, no public information or reports link the woman in this photo shoot to Kayla Day as a girlfriend (or at all).
“Kayla’s alleged ties are distant/unverified family speculation at best, with her own background as a Tucson tattoo artist – but nothing links this model or photographer to her circle,” the AI chatbot said.

A no-parking zone has been expanded in the Nancy Guthrie neighborhood
Starting Thursday, authorities expanded the no-parking zone around Nancy’s home in response to bitter complaints from neighbors about clogged roads, trespassing and trash left along the roads.
Authorities said journalists and streamers still have access to the area, but will have to park elsewhere and be dropped off in the neighborhood. Violators would face $250 ( ₹22,760) in order.
