The head of the VCK shall not run in the by-elections
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on Monday reiterated that he will not contest in the upcoming Tamil Nadu by-elections.
He was replying to a question from reporters on speculation that he is trying to contest from the Tiruchi East Assembly constituency, which was declared vacant after TVK leader C. Joseph Vijay resigned as MLA from the constituency.
Mr. Thirumavalavan said that the VCK did not put any pressure on the TVK government. “We have neither sought a change in portfolio nor demanded a contest in the Tiruchi East Assembly constituency,” he said. “The VCK is clear that the ruling TVK government should last its entire term of five years,” he added.
