
North Paravur Municipality will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Paravoor Heritage Township Project in collaboration with the Muziris Heritage Project.
This was announced in the annual budget presented on Thursday (February 26, 2025) by Deputy Chairman Laiji Biju.
DPR will also be ready to renovate the old private bus stand and commercial complex. There is also a plan to set up a modern bus terminal at Perumpadanna near National Highway 66.
The budget envisages an income of ₹60,0316,471 and an expenditure of ₹56,1281,040.
Considering the importance of NH 66, Perumpadanna and Vazhikulangara junctions will be reconstructed and land will be acquired for the purpose. According to the proposed budget, modern bus shelters, public toilets and solar street lighting will be set up at key locations in the village. Collecting and sweeping machines will also be used.
The area of the municipal stadium will undergo reconstruction. An open-air auditorium will be constructed at Ambedkar Park. The budget also proposes to upgrade the Vedimara landfill and set up a modern abattoir.
A secondary palliative care center will be established at the State Ayurvedic Hospital. A new vehicle will be provided for the BUDS school. Open gymnasiums will be set up in Vedimara, Vrindavan, Ambedkar Park and Palakulam as per the budget.
Yoga circles for senior citizens will be set up in all departments. A park for seniors will be opened in Ward 8. High mast lamps will be installed at Vazhikulangara junction and KSRTC bus stand with MLA funds.
