The Andhra Pradesh government is accelerating Re-Survey 2.0 and pushing for reforms to support clean energy projects aimed at effectively resolving land disputes and creating jobs, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad informed the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Mr. Satya Prasad, replying to TDP MLA Gali Bhanu Prakash’s question regarding the re-survey exercise, said that the hasty conduct of the re-survey by the previous YSRCP government led to many mistakes.
Around 2.79 lakh complaints regarding irregularities were received during the Gram Sabha meetings. According to him, the current government has solved 98% of these problems.
In addition, about 7.5 million issues have been identified under the Joint LPAM (Land Parcel and Management) system, of which 2.98 million have already been resolved. So far 19 lakh pattadar pass books have been distributed across the state and another 14 lakh pass books are scheduled to be distributed after the completion of the new survey.
The minister emphasized that the coalition government is conducting the Re-Survey 2.0 effectively, extending the process from 135 days under the previous government to the current 223 days. The re-survey has been completed in 7,926 villages and is continuing in 2,998 villages.
Meanwhile, the Assembly passed amendments to the Land Allocation Act to allow leased land for clean energy projects.
Mr Satya Prasad said the leased land would generate ₹31,000 per acre per year, with a provision to increase by up to 5% every two years. The move aims to facilitate the development of clean energy, which is seen as key to industrial growth in the state.
The minister clarified that the plots will only be leased with the consent of the allocated landowners, which will provide them with a stable and supplementary source of income. The addition is expected to pave the way for clean energy projects worth ₹10 crore and potentially create employment for 7.5 million people across Andhra Pradesh, the minister said.
