Shivamogga District Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host ‘Beyond Bengaluru – IT’ on February 28 at JNNCE College, an event to attract investors to Shivamogga.

Speaking at a press conference at Shivamogga on February 25, chamber president B. Gopinath said the event would be organized in collaboration with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission. “The aim of the program is to make Shivamogga an IT hub within the next five years. By 2030, at least 5,000 IT engineers should be working in IT firms in Shivamogga,” he said.
Earlier, Shivamogga faced challenges as the city lacked air connectivity. “Right now we have an airport. There are infrastructure issues. But there is no dearth of talent. Investors should look outside Bengaluru, the capital,” he said.
Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra will inaugurate the event at 10.30 am in the presence of FKCCI Chairperson Uma Reddy, Vice President Rama Prasad and Vice President Karnataka Digital Economy Mission Chetan Dixit. The ceremony will be followed by special talks by experts on AI and other technologies, he added.
