Kochi Metro services in Kerala were disrupted for about an hour on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) morning after a train broke down at MG Road station.
Services were initially halted for about 20 minutes as the train developed a technical problem related to the braking system around 8am. A replacement train arrived from Muttom Metro Bus Maintenance Depot and towed the stranded train to the depot for repairs.
The service was gradually restored after other trains were allowed to move at a speed of 10 km/h until the process of towing the train that caused the jam was completed. According to Kochi Metro Rail Ltd authorities, it took about 40 minutes.
The delay left hundreds of passengers, especially office-goers and students, stranded at stations on the corridor until services were restored.
