State Union Home Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday said that Revanth Reddy’s government lacks stability and alleged that internal dissension in the ruling party is growing. “The Chief Minister has no means for promised assurances but wants to please the High Command in Delhi,” he said.
Addressing the media after offering prayers at Bhagyalakshmi Temple in Charminar and Mahankali Temple in Lal Darwaza, accompanied by the newly elected corporators of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said that several Congress MLAs are unhappy about not getting funds for constituency development and are speaking openly about corruption in the government.
Legislators from two districts were “engaging in dissident activities,” he said. The BJP did not seek to oust the government but wanted a “democratic government”. Despite alleged efforts by the Congress, Majlis and BRS, the BJP managed to get its candidate elected as mayor in Karimnagar, he said, attributing it to a revolt among BRS corporators who “independently supported the BJP candidate”.
The minister said that the party is all set to perform well in the municipal corporation elections and demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy disclose the details of the funds released for infrastructure projects in the GHMC limits.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar alleged that while the fortunes of MIM leaders grew, living conditions in the Old City remained unchanged. The BJP’s campaign for the GHMC elections will focus on the twin themes of ‘development and Hindutva’.

At a separate press conference in Nagarkurnool, Telangana BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao demanded an inquiry into the death of a two-month-old infant who died in an attack on a family belonging to the weaker section during the ‘Mallanna Jatara’ in Kummera village.
Mr. Rao, who met the grieving parents, urged the government to provide immediate justice and announce ex-gratia to the family. He alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Home portfolio, had “lost control of the administration”.
