Karur Congress MP S Jothimani on Monday demanded the arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party district president Senthilnathan in a case registered against him for making ‘derogatory and disgusting remarks’ against her recently.
The police did not show enough “speed” in arresting Senthilnathan even 10 days after a case was registered under various provisions of the BNS on a complaint filed by the district Congress committee president, Ms. Jothimani said.
The MP told reporters in Karuru that the police did not form a special team to arrest him for “some reason”.
The Karur city police registered a case against Senthilnathan on February 15 for making derogatory remarks allegedly against Ms. Jothimani during a demonstration organized by the BJP in Karur on February 10.
