
Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh won the bronze medal in the officers’ singles category in table tennis at the 4th annual State Police Games and Sports Meet organized by Commissionerate of Police, Cyberabad. His victory added to the impressive medal tally of the Warangal Commissionerate, which produced one of its strongest performances in recent years.
The six-day meet concluded on Saturday with Warangal finishing third overall and bagging 86 medals, including 12 gold, 25 silver and 49 bronze, with outstanding performances in archery and judo. For the first time in its history, Warangal Commissionerate won a bronze medal in football along with bronzes in tug-of-war and weightlifting. The boxing contingent also contributed several bronze medals.
Warangal officers continued their winning streak as ACP Jitender Reddy and ACP Madhusudhan won gold in the badminton doubles tournament for posted officers. In table tennis, constable Tulsi Das secured gold in the open category. Commissionerate also excelled in lawn tennis, another DCP Srinivas and ACP Nagaiah and Narsaiah bagged silver in gazetted category while SI Suresh Kumar and constable Venu bagged silver in open category. Odelu and Sriramulu added another silver in badminton 50+ division and ACP Antaiah and Madhusudhan secured silver in table tennis doubles.
