Zimbabwe and West Indies are currently second and third in Group 1 and will face each other in a crucial encounter on Monday. India, meanwhile, sit fourth after a heavy defeat and a damaging NRR of -3.800, putting their semi-final hopes under immediate pressure.

Group 2 also saw clear early movement. England lead the standings after a 51-run win over Sri Lanka in Pallekele. They have two points and a healthy NRR of +2.550. Phil Salt anchored England’s innings with a composed 62 off 40 balls to guide them to 146-9, while Will Jacks added late impetus and later took three wickets in the powerplay as Sri Lanka collapsed to 95 all out.Pakistan and New Zealand were placed second and third, one point each, after their match was washed out by rain. Sri Lanka is at the bottom of the group with an NRR of -2.550.The fight for the semi-finals is in full swing.
