Villupuram MP reviews central government schemes being implemented in district at DISHA meeting

Villupuram Member of Parliament D. Ravikumar reviewed the various central schemes being implemented in the district at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Villupuram on Saturday.

The meeting reviewed the implementation and functioning of various programs under the Ministries of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Local Government, Tangedco, Agriculture, Forestry and Animal Husbandry, among others.

During the meeting, which was attended by Collector Shiek Abdul Rahman, the allocation of funds under each scheme, ongoing work and progress made, apart from those that have been completed, were reviewed.

The various union departments implementing the programs under the Union Government have been asked to ensure quality infrastructure work and that the programs reach the intended beneficiaries.

The committee discussed the status of allotment of houses under ‘Housing for All’ scheme and PM Janman scheme along with identification of beneficiaries and completion of construction works.

Officials have been instructed to speed up the ongoing works and ensure the completion of development projects within the stipulated time.

Mr. Ravikumar also directed local body chairmen and panchayat presidents to ensure that basic amenities in their jurisdictions are properly maintained and that public funds allocated for development are used effectively.
