Head of School Education, Principal Assistant Caught Taking ₹70,000 Bribe

Anti-corruption agency sleuths on Thursday (February 19, 2026) arrested the Superintendent of the Office of the Commissioner and Director of School Education in Saifabad and the Assistant Head of the Office of the District Education Officer (DEO) in Rangareddy district for accepting a bribe of ₹70,000.

The accused official, identified as Sangeena Phaniraj, Superintendent (General), was booked by ACB City Range-I officials. He demanded and accepted ₹70,000 from the complainant through Gummidala Sridhar, a senior assistant.

The bribe was demanded for processing the CBSE No Objection Certificate of the complainant school for the academic year 2026-2027 and handing over the file to the higher authorities.

ACB officials said the tainted bribe amount of ₹70,000 has been recovered and both the accused have been produced before a special court for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally in Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

The ACB urged the public to report cases of bribery by civil servants by calling the toll-free number 1064 and informed that the identity of the complainants would be kept confidential.
