Bomb! Hyderabad CBI court receives bomb threat email again | Today’s news

February 20, 2026

A bomb threat email was sent to the CBI court in Nampally, Hyderabad, following an earlier threat. Police investigated with a bomb squad and dog squads but found no suspicious items.

An Abids Police official told ANI on Friday, February 20, “The CBI court in Nampally, Hyderabad received a bomb threat email. A similar email was received two days ago by court officials who informed us. A bomb and dog squad reached the court and conducted searches but nothing suspicious was found.”

The incident led to panic in the Telangana court complex. The threat email claimed that RDX IEDs were placed in the courtroom and courthouse that would explode when remote-controlled individuals approached the office.

However, after a thorough search, the threat was declared a hoax, officials told news agency PTI.

Another bomb threat in Telangana

Meanwhile, another district court in Telangana received a similar threat on the same day. Karimnagar received an anonymous email stating that explosive devices had been placed on the premises. He also mentioned that the explosives would go off at 12:05.

Shortly after receiving the email, authorities alerted the Karimnagar II police station, which then evacuated parts of the compound and conducted a search with bomb squads and dog squads.

Similar to the Hyderabad incident, the search yielded no suspicious materials, with officials confirming that the threat was a hoax, PTI reported.

Police told the news agency that investigations are ongoing in both cases to trace the origin of the emails and identify those responsible for issuing the threats.

Rajasthan HC receives bomb threat

In a separate incident, the Rajasthan High Court received a fresh bomb threat on Friday, hours before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant was scheduled to arrive in the city, PTI officials said.

Although nothing suspicious was found on the premises, the court proceedings were delayed due to security concerns, they added.

An email sent to the High Court administration threatened to bomb the court building and senior police officers were informed. Authorities conducted a thorough search of the complex, the news release said.

According to officials, a similar threat was made on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the same day the CJI is scheduled to inaugurate a seminar at the Rajasthan International Center on Friday evening.
