Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan
The Tamil Nadu government has decided to have a single-window university system for admission to PhD candidates to ensure transparency, Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan informed the gathering on Thursday.
Referring to complaints regarding transparency in allotment of guides for PhD students, he said that a single window system was being implemented in Periyar University, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and Tiruvalluvar University. This system will also be adopted in all state universities, he said. The minister further said that the state government has decided to adopt the university’s single window system for Ph.D. admission process in all state universities across the state.
A software will be introduced to ensure transparency in allotment of academic guides for PhD students and a state-level committee will monitor admissions at all levels, Mr. Chezhiaan added.
