Two cyclists died after a head-on collision on the Hassan-Belur road near Hassan in the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh, 28, of Guddenahalli, Hassan taluk and Mayur, 24, a resident of Hassan town.
In his complaint to the Hassan traffic police, Rakesh’s father, Range Gowda, said his son was returning home from Hassan when he was hit by another bike coming from the opposite direction. He was taken to a government hospital in the city where he was declared brought dead.
Mayur, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, also succumbed.
