DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday urged his party district secretaries, concerned ministers and area in-charges to make all arrangements for the successful implementation of the ‘Vellum Tamil Pengal’ door-to-door campaign.
In a statement, Mr. Stalin said a committee of 10 women had been formed in each polling station based on a list provided by district secretaries.
“One member from the committee should be selected and training should be done at constituency level. Constituency training for ‘Vellum Tamil Pengal’ campaign should be conducted and completed in all constituencies by 20th, 21st and 22nd February. This training will be provided by ‘Tamil Constituency Women Team’ mandated training, all campaign information will be given to PenelVgal. after they will train other female members in each polling station and start a campaign,” he said.
“We should take the achievements of the Dravidian model government which provided a total of Rs 5,000 to the women of Tamil Nadu. Besides, we should convey my promise to the women that Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam will be increased to Rs 2,000 per month under the ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’.”
He said the door-to-door campaign should be launched from February 23 and end on March 8, which happens to be International Women’s Day.
