
Iran’s Deputy Minister for Policy Making, ICT Development Planning and Digital Economy Ehsan Chitsaz highlighted the democratization of artificial intelligence (AI) as he underlined the growing convergence between India and Iran on the future of artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Speaking to ANI at India’s AI Impact Summit 2026, the Iranian minister highlighted the alignment between the country’s digital vision and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach to it.
Ehsan Chitsaz said: “PM Modi’s principles are quite similar to what we are looking for in Iran, especially democratization of AI for all people and use of AI for every person around the world. Speaking about Iran’s policies on the use of artificial intelligence, the Iranian minister emphasized that a fair and inclusive approach to AI and digital growth are central to Iran’s approach.
He noted that emerging technologies must be harnessed not only for economic progress, but also to ensure that the benefits reach citizens across all strata of society, the news agency said.
The India AI Impact Summit brought together government policymakers, AI experts, academics, technology innovators and civil society from around the world in Delhi to advance global discussions on AI. The India AI Impact Summit, the first global AI summit to be held in the Global South, reflects the transformative potential of AI that aligns with the national vision of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (Welfare for All, Happiness for All) and the Global Principle of AI for Humanity.
This summit is part of an evolving international process aimed at strengthening global cooperation on governance, security and the impact of artificial intelligence on society.
The summit witnessed the participation of more than 110 countries, more than two dozen international organizations and more than 40 ministers.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is guided by three sutras or fundamental pillars: People, Planet and Progress. These sutras formulate the basic principles of global cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. They aim to promote human-centered AI that protects rights and ensures equitable benefits across societies, environmentally sustainable AI progress, and inclusive economic and technological progress.
