Bharat GI Coffee, a national umbrella IP positioned as “A World Exclusive”, is now endorsed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who tasted the Monsooned Malabar Robusta blend at India’s AI Impact 2026 Summit on Thursday.

Bharat GI Coffee is a national brand of the Ministry of Commerce that promotes geographical indication products and features coffees from various regions such as Coorg and Araku Valley.

Sharing Pichai’s experience at the Bharat GI Coffee stall at the summit, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, “When Sundar Pichai stops by for a sip, you know it’s really worth it! ☕The world is raising a cup of Bharat GI Coffee at #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026.”

In the video, Pichai can be heard asking for the Malabar Arabica variant and nodding at it after a sip.

In an earlier post, Goyal said that with GI Indian Coffee, the nation “invites the world to experience Bharat through aroma, taste and authenticity”.

“Through Bharat GI, we are poised to give India’s exclusive products the global recognition and premium placement they deserve,” he added.

At the AI ​​Impact Summit, Google and Alphabet’s CEO described artificial intelligence (AI) as “the biggest platform change of our lifetimes” and called on governments, companies and institutions to advance the technology boldly and responsibly.

Sundar Figai he said no technology made him “dream bigger” than artificial intelligence, highlighting its transformative potential across science, education and economic growth.

“This is the biggest platform shift in our lifetimes, we are on the verge of hyper progress and new discoveries that can help emerging economies leapfrog the gaps of the past. But this outcome is neither guaranteed nor automatic,” he said. “To create artificial intelligence that is truly useful for everyone. We must hold on to it boldly, approach it responsibly, and live this defining moment together.”

Google will build four new undersea fiber optic cable systems between India and the United States, making the project a cornerstone of the broader expansion of AI and digital infrastructure.

“We are also building an extensive network of undersea fiber optic cables, including four new systems between the US and India, as part of our initiative to connect America and India,” Pichai said.

Pichai also said Google is setting up a full-stack AI center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, as part of its previously announced $15 billion infrastructure investment in India. The facility will feature gigawatt-scale computing capacity and a new international undersea cable gateway aimed at expanding AI jobs and access across the country.
