The complainant in the case of forgery appears suspected of a false accusation

February 19, 2026

In a strange case of alleged forgery, the Cyberabad police are turning against the complainant as they found evidence that the complainant had misled them.

The Economic Offenses Wing of the Cyberabad plans to initiate criminal proceedings against Bandi Rama Pradeep Reddy, on whose complaint a criminal case was registered in the matter of forged signatures, forged documents and illegal transfer of shares. In 2014, one Pavan Kumar Reddy established M/s Nature Born Projects Private Limited to provide consultancy services related to installation of renewable energy power plants.

Almost seven years later, Pradeep Reddy joined as a director with almost 33% stake. A year later, another person, Suneel Kumar, also joined as director. In 2024, the company entered into an agreement with M/s Serintica Renewables Inda Private Limited to set up a project in Andhra Pradesh. The next year, Serentica transferred ₹44.63 crore to Nature Born for the services used.

On 24 November 2015, the EOW registered a criminal case against two other directors of Nature Born, Pavan Kumar Reddy and Ravi Shankar Reddy, following a complaint by Pradeep Reddy that the duo was transferring funds by submitting fabricated documents using forged signatures.

“We have issued notices to Pavan Kumar and Ravi Shankar to question them. Interestingly, they have come back to us with reports from private forensic experts from Truth Labs, saying that they did not indulge in any forgery,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police EOW Muthyam Reddy. According to the officer, Ram Pradeep Reddy had voluntarily signed the documents regarding the transfers of the company’s shares, but eventually lodged a complaint.

The DCP said that since the report secured by the two ‘accused’ was from Truth Labs (a private forensic laboratory), they sent the concerned documents to the Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory for fact-finding. “FSL has also confirmed that no documents have been forged as claimed by Rama Pradeep Reddy. We have filed a case closure report in the court and are planning to register a case against him for misleading the police,” said Muthyam Reddy.

According to EOW officials, there have been occasional cases of private company owners filing false complaints, but this case was a classic example of an attempt to abuse the judicial process.
